Questions we get often.
Why no percentage per booking?
Because it is unfair to the artist and we simply do not need to. Stripe is our payments partner: the money goes straight from customer to artist, Inktboek never touches it. We earn from the flat monthly fee, and that is it.
How exactly do deposits work?
Each artist links their own Stripe account. On a booking with a deposit the customer gets an iDEAL link. The money lands directly in the artist's account.
Do I need a KvK / VAT number?
Not for using inktboek itself — without deposits you can use inktboek freely. For receiving iDEAL payments yes: a valid business registration is required. If you do not have a KvK yet, sort that first.
Can my customer chat without an account?
Yes. For every project the customer gets their own link by email. With it they open the chat without password or account. The link is unique per project and stays valid as long as the project runs.
What happens to my existing Instagram DMs?
You keep them. Inktboek gradually replaces the chaos of loose DMs for customers with an active project. If someone first reaches out via DM, you can forward them to your inktboek intake link.
What about cancellations and refunds?
Deposits are refundable on timely cancellation. The window you set per artist. You initiate the refund button in inktboek; the actual refund runs through Stripe. On no-show or late cancellation the deposit stays.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Inktboek is mobile first: every screen is built for one-handed use. No native app needed, just your browser. For customers the intake and chat are also mobile first.
What if I want to stop?
Cancel any month. You get an export of all your customers, projects and payment history as CSV.
