Terms of service

The rules

These terms apply between inktboek (a product of Helolinks, KvK 98076655, registered at Poortland 66, 1046BD Amsterdam) and you (a tattoo studio, artist or freelancer) who creates an account on inktboek.nl. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. What inktboek does

inktboek is software-as-a-service for managing appointments, intakes, deposits and projects of a tattoo studio. We provide the software, not the tattoo service itself. That is your work.

2. What we don't do

  • We are not a party to the appointment between you and your customer
  • We do not touch the money: deposits go straight to your bank account
  • We are not liable for damages during or caused by tattoo work. That responsibility lies with you and your insurance
  • We provide no legal advice on your specific business situation

3. Account and use

  • You are responsible for your account credentials. Don't share your password.
  • You use inktboek for legitimate tattoo business purposes. No spam, no abuse, no content that harms others.
  • One account per studio. Multiple artists fall under the same studio account via roles.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of what your customers provide (intake info, allergies, etc.).

4. Payment and subscription

  • Subscriptions run monthly, paid in advance.
  • 30-day free trial, cancel monthly.
  • Prices on /pricing. We may change them with at least 60 days' notice by email.
  • No percentage per booking. Stripe fees you pay directly to Stripe.
  • On non-payment we may suspend the account after 14 days and terminate after 60 days.
  • Inktboek Community discount: studios that apply via /community and are approved get 50% off the monthly fee in each month they deliver feedback in time (within 14 days of the invitation). If no feedback is given for a month, the discount lapses for that month and the full rate is charged. The discount automatically returns the next month feedback is given. Stripe fees for customer deposits are excluded from the discount. We may revoke participation on misuse (e.g. claiming without delivering feedback) with one month's notice.

5. Cancellation

  • Cancellable at any time at the end of the current month. No notice period.
  • On cancellation you get a data export (CSV with customers, projects, bookings, payment history) and the data is kept for 30 days. Then deleted, unless legal retention (e.g. fiscal) requires otherwise.
  • We may terminate your account on breach of these terms, with prior warning where reasonable.

6. Availability

  • We aim for 99.5% uptime per month, measured on a rolling 30-day window.
  • Planned maintenance is announced at least 7 days in advance, preferably at night (02:00-05:00 NL time).
  • No SLA with financial penalties. On significant downtime we discuss reasonable compensation (e.g. credit on your next invoice).

7. Liability

Our liability per calendar year is limited to what you have paid in subscription fees that year. We exclude liability for indirect damages, lost revenue, and damages arising from the tattoo work itself.

This limitation does not apply in case of intent or gross negligence on our part.

8. Intellectual property

  • The inktboek software, design, code and brand belong to inktboek.
  • The content you upload (portfolio, designs, customer info, healed photos) belongs to you and your customers. We only get a license to store it and show it to you and your customer. Nothing more.
  • We do not use your content for marketing without explicit written consent.

9. Privacy and processing

How we handle personal data is in the privacy statement. For processing of customer data the data processing agreement applies.

10. Changes

We may amend these terms. Material changes are announced by email to active accounts at least 30 days before they take effect. Don't agree with a change? You can cancel before the effective date.

11. Governing law

Dutch law applies to this agreement. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam.
